What does an INTEX home inspection look at?

  1. We inspect the major, visible systems of the house. These include the roof, exterior, structure, electrical, heating, cooling, plumbing, insulation, and interior. Our goal is to identify any existing major visible problems that may affect a buyer's decision to purchase.

How long does an INTEX home inspection take?

  1. A typical on-site inspection should take 2.5 to 4 hours.

  2. The time your inspection takes can vary depending on the current condition of the home, size, and age.  Nonetheless, each home still gets the same thorough in depth inspection.

  3. We never rush our home inspections. Between the inspection, your walk through, and writing the inspection report we typically dedicate a full day to your prospective home.

Can I attend my INTEX home inspection?

  1. Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it.

  2. By attending the inspection you will be able to see the conditions of your prospective home firsthand and what will be described in the report.

  3. Ask any and all questions.  We will gladly take the time to explain things so you feel more comfortable with your decision to purchase a home.

Do I have to take notes during an INTEX home inspection?

  1. You can if you wish but you don't have to.

  2. We will document everything in a written report so you can feel free to follow the inspector and listen to his comments.  Your inspection is also a great opportunity to ask questions and to clarify any concerns you may have.

Can I ask questions during my INTEX home inspection?

  1. Of course! You may want to prepare questions in advance that you have regarding the home. You should also feel free to stop the inspector and ask questions as you go. If the inspector's comments or explanations are not clear, please ask for further explanation.

What should I wear during an INTEX home inspection?

  1. You should dress comfortably and be prepared to spend roughly 2.5-4 hours walking through the home with the inspector.  Don’t worry, you won't have to climb on the roof or go into the attic if you don’t want to, so your clothes won't get dirty.

Do I get a written report after my INTEX home inspection?

  1. You do receive a written report. The report includes a summary of the condition of the home and details on all the major systems of the home. It is prepared and sent to you by email within 24 hours after the inspection is complete.

If  the house is really bad, will you tell us not to buy it?
